TLDR Platelet-rich plasma shows promise for treating erectile dysfunction, but more research is needed.
This review examined the potential of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) as a treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED), noting its promise in improving erectile function, particularly in cases where traditional treatments were ineffective. While animal studies showed PRP's ability to aid nerve regeneration, human trials, including a notable study involving 60 men, indicated positive outcomes. However, the studies were limited by small sample sizes, lack of control groups, and short follow-up durations. The review concluded that more rigorous research was needed to determine optimal preparation, dosage, and administration techniques, as well as to confirm long-term efficacy and safety.
