TLDR Probiotics significantly reduce the severity of atopic dermatitis.
This updated meta-analysis evaluated the efficacy of probiotics in reducing SCORAD scores in atopic dermatitis patients, including four RCTs with 248 participants. The results showed a significant reduction in SCORAD scores in the probiotic group compared to the placebo group (MD -6.23, 95% CI: -9.14 to -3.32; p < 0.00001), indicating that probiotics significantly reduce the severity of atopic dermatitis. The findings support the use of probiotics as an effective treatment option for atopic dermatitis, reinforcing previous meta-analyses.
