Preliminary results of the use of scalp microneedling in different types of alopecia

A preliminary study from three years ago suggests that scalp microneedling may be a promising treatment option for different types of alopecia, including androgenetic alopecia and telogen effluvium. The treatment was found to improve hair density and thickness, and was well-tolerated by patients with no serious adverse effects reported. However, larger studies are needed to confirm these findings. Microneedling can enhance growth factor production and facilitate hair follicle regeneration, and may be used alongside other therapies such as platelet-rich plasma. Overall, scalp microneedling shows potential as a safe and effective treatment for hair loss in different types of alopecia.
