    The document explored the long-term complications and sequelae of COVID-19 in patients who had recovered from the acute phase of the disease. It highlighted the importance of distinguishing between cardiorespiratory and extra-respiratory sequelae to better understand and manage the clinical consequences. At the time, while knowledge about managing the acute phase of COVID-19 had grown, there was limited information on the long-term effects, which represented a significant health and social challenge.
