TLDR Improving wogonin's solubility greatly increases its absorption in the body.
The study developed an LC-MS/MS method to determine wogonin concentration in dog plasma and investigated its pharmacokinetics and bioavailability in six male Beagle's dogs. The method was sensitive and specific, with a quantification limit of 0.105 μg/L. The study found that the absolute bioavailability of wogonin was low, at 0.59% for the native drug and 3.65% for the solution preparation. The results indicated that improving wogonin's solubility significantly increased its bioavailability.
