In Vitro Evaluation of Different Commercial Antimycotics and Disinfectants Against Trichophyton Verrucosum Isolated From Beef Farm in Beni-Suef, Egypt

This study conducted in Egypt evaluated antifungal treatments for sheep with dermatophytosis, finding that tioconazole cream, clotrimazole spray, and fluconazole capsules were effective, with tioconazole cream providing an easily applicable and highly effective topical option, achieving a 100% cure rate in the short term.

This study found that povidone iodine, thiabendazole ointment, captan ointment, and Burroughs Wellcome Ringworm Ointment were effective against Trichophyton equinum var. autotrophicum in horses, but large-scale use may be limited by practicality and cost.
