TLDR Cedrus libani has potential medicinal uses but needs more safety studies.
The review on Cedrus libani (Cedar of Lebanon) highlights its traditional medicinal uses and diverse bioactivities, including antioxidant, antimicrobial, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory properties. Essential oils and extracts from various parts of the plant contain compounds like α-pinene, β-pinene, and germacrene D, showing significant variability based on geographic and environmental factors. The plant exhibits notable antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal, insecticidal, antiproliferative, and cytotoxic activities, with potential therapeutic applications for cancer, inflammatory disorders, and hair growth.
