Photoprotective Effects of a Multifunctional Hair Care Formulation Containing Botanical Extracts, Vitamins, and UV Filters

The study aimed to develop a multifunctional hair care product, Hair BB Cream, which includes botanical extracts (Camellia sinensis, Vitis vinifera, Euterpe orleacea), vitamins, amino acids, UV filters, and silicones to treat hair and prevent UV damage. The cream's antioxidant activity was confirmed through DPPH and chemiluminescence methods. Efficacy tests showed that the cream improved combability, increased break stress and gloss of hair. When hair strands were exposed to UV radiation, those treated with the Hair BB Cream maintained their mechanical properties, indicating the cream's effectiveness in protecting against UV damage. The study concluded that the Hair BB Cream is an effective multifunctional hair care product that prevents UV damage and treats hair.
