Pharmacological Effects of Natural Compounds Extracted from Urtica Dioica Evaluated by In Silico and Experimental Methods

The study evaluated the pharmacological effects of natural compounds extracted from Urtica dioica (nettle) using in silico and experimental methods. Nettle, known for its medicinal properties, was analyzed for its nutrient-rich content, including minerals and vitamins A and C. The study highlighted the plant's antioxidant and anti-aging effects due to compounds like ursolic acid and quercetin. The extraction methods involved maceration and distillation with an ethanol-water-soluble solvent. The research also used cheminformatics and bioinformatics tools to assess the drug-like features and bioavailability of these compounds, revealing quercetin as a promising antioxidant and anti-aging candidate. The study demonstrated nettle's potential pharmacological uses, including antiviral, antibacterial, hepato-protective, hypotensive, diuretic, and anti-inflammatory effects.
