TLDR Negative pressure fractional microneedle radiofrequency effectively and safely reduces periorbital aging signs.
This study assessed the efficacy and safety of negative pressure fractional microneedle radiofrequency (NPFMR) for periorbital aging in 25 patients, with 22 completing it. After two treatment sessions, significant improvements were observed in periorbital wrinkles, skin gloss, and dermal thickness at 6 months post-treatment. There was a decrease in wrinkle count and transepidermal water loss, alongside increased hydration and pH levels. Histological analysis showed increased collagen and elastic fiber expression. The treatment was well-tolerated, with minimal adverse effects, including one case of reversible post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Despite the small sample size and short follow-up, NPFMR is considered a safe and effective method for reducing signs of periorbital aging, warranting further research.
