The Presentation of Systemic Erythematous Lupus with Kikuchi-Fujimoto Disease

A 43-year-old female presented with symptoms including high-grade fever, painful swallowing, malar rash, pruritic maculopapular rash, and hair loss, and was diagnosed with both systemic erythematous lupus (SLE) and Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease (KFD). Laboratory findings showed anemia, leucopenia, and positive ANA and ds-DNA, while imaging and biopsy confirmed KFD. Treatment with glucocorticoids and hydroxychloroquine led to clinical improvement. KFD is a benign, self-limited disorder often linked to autoimmune responses, and its diagnosis is confirmed through lymph node biopsy and immunological tests.
