TLDR Lichen Sclerosus causes itching, pain, and potential complications in the genital area.
Lichen Sclerosus (LS) was a chronic inflammatory skin condition primarily affecting the genital area in men, women, and children. In females, it typically presented with itchy patches that affected physical, psychosocial, and sexual functioning. In males, symptoms included difficulty urinating due to urethral narrowing, issues with foreskin retraction due to scarring, and painful intercourse. Complications of LS included anatomical loss and the potential for malignant transformation.
