A study conducted on 44 female participants found that low-level laser therapy (LLLT) at 650 nm using the Capillus272 Pro device is a safe and effective treatment for androgenetic alopecia in healthy females between the ages of 18 to 60 with Fitzpatrick skin Types I to IV and Ludwig-Savin Baldness Scale I-2 to II-2 baldness patterns. The treatment resulted in a 51% increase in terminal hair counts in the laser group as compared to the control or sham treatment group. The study suggests that LLLT may play a potentially significant role in healthcare providers' armamentarium for androgenic alopecia.
