TLDR A new hair loss treatment with two unique ingredients improved hair growth.
In a randomized, placebo-controlled study conducted 11 years ago, a combination of Trifolium pratense flower extract and a biomimetic peptide was tested on 30 volunteers with receding hair for the prevention of hair loss. After 4 months of daily topical application, anagen (growth phase) hair increased by 13%, telogen (resting phase) hair density decreased by 29%, and the anagen/telogen ratio increased by 46% over baseline in the treated group. These results were significantly different from the placebo group. The positive effects on hair growth were attributed to the inhibition of 5-α-reductase activity, reduction of inflammatory reactions, and stimulation of extracellular matrix protein synthesis in the vicinity of the hair follicle.
