In the 2000 study, researchers developed a new classification system for male pattern baldness (MPB) and assessed its prevalence among 1,731 Korean men, identifying six types of MPB, including a unique type O not previously classified by Western standards. They also analyzed the anterior hairline in 108 normal male adults, finding the linear type to be the most common at 70.37%.
