TLDR A lotion with natural extracts significantly sped up hair growth in women with hair loss from chemotherapy.
A double-blind clinical trial involving 11 female patients aged 35 to 75 years with chemotherapy-induced alopecia (CIA) found that a lotion containing Larrea divaricata and Coffea arabica extracts significantly accelerated hair growth. After 30 days of daily application, the lotion increased hair growth by 613% and reduced the time to achieve a normal amount of hair to 39 ± 5.8 days, compared to 57 ± 10 days in control patients. No adverse events were reported, suggesting the lotion is a safe and affordable treatment for CIA. The exact mechanism of action was not studied, but it's hypothesized that the extracts could influence oxidative stress, cell proliferation, and apoptosis, thus promoting hair growth.

The user switched from finasteride to dutasteride for hair loss but faced increased shedding and anxiety, regretting not staying with finasteride longer. Other users shared mixed experiences, advising patience with dutasteride, as it may take up to a year to show results.
