TLDR Nanostructured lipid carriers are effective for treating hyperpigmentation in women aged 30-40.
Nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) are emerging as a promising second-generation lipid nanoparticle system for treating hyperpigmentation, particularly in women aged 30-40. NLCs enhance drug delivery by improving skin hydration, modifying release profiles, and increasing skin penetration while avoiding systemic absorption. Composed of biocompatible lipids, surfactants, and cosurfactants, NLCs offer advantages such as ease of preparation, biocompatibility, scalability, non-toxicity, and improved drug loading and stability. This review highlights recent advancements in the preparation, characterization, and applications of NLCs for hyperpigmentation treatment.
