TLDR Carrot seed oil thickens hair roots and tips, with 75% concentration being most effective.
The study investigated the potential of carrot seed oil (CSO) as a hair growth promoter in 20 male rats. CSO, rich in vitamin A, beta-carotene, and carotol, was applied daily in concentrations of 25%, 50%, and 75% over 14 days. While CSO did not affect hair length, it improved the thickness of the hair root, shaft, and tip, with the 75% concentration being most effective. The frequency of application did not impact hair growth, but a 75% concentration applied once daily resulted in the best follicle regeneration.
