TLDR Peptide hydrogels are promising for drug delivery and tissue repair in medicine.
Self-assembled peptide hydrogels are highlighted for their potential in biomedical applications due to their bioactivity, biocompatibility, and biodegradability. These hydrogels can mimic natural tissue environments and respond to stimuli, making them suitable for drug delivery, tissue engineering, and disease treatment. The review discusses recent advances in the design and properties of peptide hydrogels, emphasizing their applications in targeted drug and gene delivery, stem cell therapy, cancer therapy, immune regulation, bioimaging, and regenerative medicine.
