Sequence Analysis of mtDNA NADH-Ubiquinone Oxidoreductase Chain 1 Gene (ND1) of the Asian Black Bear Sichuan Subspecies (Ursus thibetanus mupinensis)

    Researchers analyzed the ND1 gene from the Asian black bear Sichuan subspecies using DNA extracted from hair follicles. They found the gene sequence to be 957 base pairs long, encoding 317 amino acids. The sequence showed high similarity to those of other bear species, raccoons, and Ailurus fulgens. Various software tools were used for sequence prediction, comparison, and protein structure analysis, revealing a protein with a pI of 7.83 and a molecular weight of 35.6 kDa.
