TLDR MRI helps evaluate androgenetic alopecia severity.
This document discusses the use of MRI to evaluate anatomical changes in the scalp caused by androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The severity of AGA, as measured by the Hamilton-Norwood Scale, was found to be significantly correlated with the number of hair follicles. MR imaging can be a useful tool for evaluating the severity of androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in men, according to a study involving 27 male volunteers. The study suggests that MR imaging can be particularly helpful in distinguishing between moderate and severe cases of AGA. MRI can be used to analyze healthy and pathological scalps in cases of androgenetic alopecia (AGA).
