TLDR A 15% Moringa oleifera extract significantly improved wound healing in diabetic rats.
This study investigated the wound healing effects of a 70% ethanolic extract of Moringa oleifera leaves on hyperglycemic rats, comparing it to povidone iodine. Twenty-five rats were divided into five groups, including three different extract concentrations (5%, 10%, and 15%). The 15% extract was found to be the most effective, achieving a 95.87% reduction in wound area and accelerating scab formation and hair growth. The extract demonstrated good quality, with a yield of 23.8%, moisture content of 4.05%, and a pH of 5.70. Overall, the 15% Moringa oleifera extract significantly enhanced wound healing in hyperglycemic rats.
