TLDR Three molecular subtypes of advanced skin T-cell lymphoma were identified, with potential biomarkers for predicting treatment response and disease progression.
This study investigates advanced cutaneous T-cell lymphomas, specifically mycosis fungoides (MF) and Sézary syndrome (SS), by performing proteomic and transcriptomic profiling on 33 skin biopsies. The research identifies three distinct molecular subtypes of advanced MF/SS, each with unique phenotypic characteristics related to intracellular signaling, energy metabolism, and extracellular matrix remodeling. These findings highlight the heterogeneity among patients and offer new insights into the disease's pathogenesis. Additionally, the study identifies potential biomarkers for predicting treatment response and disease progression, which were validated through immunohistochemical staining.
