TLDR Modified phenol peels effectively reduced stubborn skin pigmentation in patients with Lichen Planus Pigmentosus.
The study analyzed the efficacy and safety of six sessions of Croton oil-free phenol combination (CFPC) peels for treating hyperpigmentation in 17 Indian patients with Lichen Planus Pigmentosus (LPP). Results showed that 5 patients (29%) experienced excellent improvement with over 75% reduction in pigmentation, while 13 patients (76%) had moderate to excellent improvement with at least 25% reduction. The treatment was well tolerated with no serious adverse effects. The study concluded that modified phenol peels were effective and safe for reducing LPP-associated hyperpigmentation, with thorough priming, stringent sun protection, and post-peel adjuvant topicals enhancing and maintaining the effects.

A study that outlines the full model for androgenic alopecia (AGA) which links DHT to cellular senescence in dermal papilla cells, and suggests black chokeberry as a source of cyanidin 3-O-arabinoside polyphenol with potential anti-oxidant properties that could reverse this process. The post encourages reaching out to experts in anti-aging and longevity to research treatments involving the polyphenol.

The post and conversation are about the role of the enzyme 3alpha-hydroxysteroid reductase in hair loss and the potential of compounds like procyanidin B2 and sulforaphane to boost its activity for hair regrowth. Further research is needed to develop effective treatments based on this theory.
