    This study investigated the effects of polydioxanone (PDO), poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), and polycaprolactone (PCL) thread implantation on MMP1 gene expression and collagen percentage in ageing rat skin. The study involved female Wistar rats divided into six groups, including young and old rats with and without UV-B exposure, and ageing model rats with thread implantation. Results showed that while MMP1 gene expression remained unchanged across all thread implantation groups, the collagen percentage increased significantly compared to the ageing model but was similar to young rats without UV-B exposure. The study concludes that PDO, PLLA, and PCL threads do not reduce MMP1 gene expression but effectively increase collagen percentage in ageing rat models.
