TLDR PRP is more effective and safer for hair growth than monofilament threads.
This study compared the efficacy and safety of monofilament threads and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) intradermal injections in treating androgenetic alopecia in 30 patients. PRP injections were administered to one side of the scalp, while monofilament threads were used on the other. Results showed that PRP significantly increased hair density and diameter compared to monofilament threads. The study concluded that PRP is a promising and risk-free therapy for hair repair, offering greater improvements in hair density and thickness than monofilament thread implantation.
