Minoxidil Intoxication: A Case of Refractory Shock With Prolonged Supportive Care

A 24-year-old male experienced refractory vasoplegic shock after ingesting 120 mL of 5% minoxidil solution, a rare case of minoxidil intoxication. The patient required fluid resuscitation and norepinephrine support for 180 hours to maintain mean arterial pressure, marking an unprecedented duration in medical literature. This case highlights the potential for prolonged vasopressor dependency following massive minoxidil ingestion and emphasizes the need for intensive symptomatic management. It contributes to the limited literature on minoxidil intoxication, suggesting that supportive care may need to be extended significantly.
