Combination of Minoxidil 5% With Carboxytherapy Versus Minoxidil 5% Alone in Treatment of Female Pattern Hair Loss

    Image of study
TLDR Using minoxidil with carboxytherapy is more effective for female pattern hair loss than minoxidil alone.
The study "Combination of Minoxidil 5% with Carboxytherapy versus Minoxidil 5% Alone in Treatment of Female Pattern Hair Loss" involved 40 female patients with Androgenic Alopecia (AGA). They were divided into two groups: Group A used minoxidil 5% once daily with carboxytherapy every 3 weeks for 6 months, and Group B used only minoxidil 5% once daily for the same period. The results showed a statistically significant increase in hair diameter, density, and count in Group A compared to Group B at both 3 and 6 months (p=0.012, 0.001, 0.004, <0.001, 0.048, 0.002 respectively). Group A also reported higher satisfaction with a significant difference (P=0.049). The study concluded that carboxytherapy, in combination with minoxidil, appears to be a promising treatment for female pattern hair loss, and it is recommended for maintaining the results with minimal side effects.
