TLDR Microneedling with PRP is as effective and safe as minoxidil+finasteride for treating hair loss.
This randomized clinical study compared microneedling with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to minoxidil (5%) + finasteride (0.1%) topical therapy in 60 adult males with Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA). Both treatments significantly improved hair density with no statistically significant difference between the groups. Microneedling with PRP showed quicker onset of action. Adverse effects were minimal and manageable. The study concluded that microneedling with PRP is a safe, effective, and promising treatment modality for AGA, comparable to minoxidil+finasteride topical therapy.
