TLDR The combined treatment improves skin texture and reduces wrinkles effectively.
This study assessed the effectiveness and safety of a combined microneedle and sublative fractional radiofrequency treatment for photoaged skin in 12 subjects. Participants received three sessions at 1-month intervals, resulting in significant improvements in skin tightening, texture, and wrinkle reduction, with high satisfaction rates. Histological analysis showed better-organized collagen fibers, increased collagen type I, and reduced abnormal elastin. Despite a slightly longer downtime of 3-5 days, the treatment was well-tolerated. The study concludes that this combined approach is a promising therapeutic option for photoaged skin, though further research with larger groups is needed to confirm these findings.
