    The study investigated the effects of Coriaria sinica Maxim extract (CSME) on burn wound healing in 40 male SD rats. The results showed that CSME significantly promoted wound healing and hair growth compared to other treatments, such as normal saline, white petrolatum jelly, and silver sulfadiazine. By the 21st day, the CSME group exhibited extensive new epithelial tissue and hair growth, with a higher epithelization rate and better tissue structure. The healing process was associated with increased expression of epidermal growth factor (EGF) and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) in the early stages, which decreased later, and a lower mRNA expression ratio of type I collagen compared to type III collagen. CSME was concluded to enhance healing without scarring by modulating growth factor expression and collagen synthesis.
