TLDR Oral health affects overall well-being, with tooth loss impacting quality of life, nutrition, and health.
This document is not related to hair loss, alopecia, or hair growth. It is a review of international literature on the impact of edentulism (complete tooth loss) on general health and well-being, particularly on Oral Health Related Quality of Life (OHRQOL), nutrition aspects, morbidity, and mortality. The review highlights the importance of oral health to general well-being and its interrelated dependencies. The prevalence of edentulism has decreased over the last decades in most western countries, but it is still increasing in less developed countries. Lifestyle and diet may play a role in the prevalence of edentulism.
