This study investigated the relationship between age at menarche and clinical, hormonal, and metabolic features in 68 women with PCOS from a rural population. Participants were categorized into early, normal, and late menarche groups. The study found no significant differences in baseline characteristics, hormonal levels, or metabolic markers across these groups. However, early menarche was associated with a higher Ferriman-Gallwey score, indicating more severe hirsutism. A weak negative correlation was observed between menarche age and hirsutism. The findings suggest that early menarche could be a non-invasive indicator for identifying PCOS patients at higher risk for hyperandrogenism.
