TLDR Combining topical delgocitinib with a 308-nm excimer laser can effectively treat severe alopecia areata and vitiligo.
A 53-year-old man with atopic dermatitis and a two-year history of hair loss and depigmented macules on the scalp was successfully treated for severe alopecia areata (AA) and vitiligo using a combination of topical delgocitinib and a 308-nm excimer laser. Initially, he was treated with three courses of daily 500-mg methylprednisolone for three consecutive days, followed by other treatments. The combination therapy led to significant improvement in both hair regrowth and repigmentation of the macules. This case highlights the potential effectiveness of combining topical delgocitinib with excimer laser therapy for managing severe AA and vitiligo.
