TLDR Many women in urban Bangalore have low magnesium intake, leading to symptoms like hair loss and joint pain.
The study assessed magnesium status among 500 women aged 40 to 65 in urban Bangalore, revealing that their average magnesium intake was below the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA). Magnesium deficiency symptoms varied, with 2.3% experiencing dizziness and 58.4% suffering from hair loss. Nearly half of the participants reported hair loss, muscle cramps, and frequent joint pain. The study highlights the need for biochemical assessments to validate these findings.
