TLDR Low-Level Laser Therapy may help reduce chronic pelvic pain in women.
This study evaluated the efficacy of Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) in treating Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome (CPPS) in female patients. The study involved 19 participants, with 11 receiving LLLT and 8 receiving a placebo. Significant improvements were observed in the treatment group in terms of pain reduction, as measured by the Visual Analogue Scale and McGill Melzack Pain Questionnaire, and quality of life, as indicated by the SF-36 survey. However, no significant differences were found in depression and anxiety levels between the groups. The study concludes that LLLT is a promising treatment for CPPS, but larger studies are needed to confirm these findings.
