TLDR Low-dose oral minoxidil helps increase hair density in traction alopecia.
The study investigates the efficacy and safety of low-dose oral minoxidil (LDOM) in treating traction alopecia (TA), a type of hair loss caused by repetitive pulling forces that damage hair follicles, commonly affecting the frontal and temporoparietal regions of the scalp. While hair regrowth has been reported with topical minoxidil, this study aims to assess the potential benefits of LDOM. The findings suggest that LDOM can improve hair density in patients with TA, providing a promising alternative treatment option.
