The study investigated the effects of longxuejie and finasteride on reducing intra-operative bleeding during TURP in 80 patients divided into four groups of 20 each. The groups included a finasteride group, a longxuejie group, a combined finasteride and longxuejie group, and a control group. Results showed that the combined finasteride and longxuejie group experienced significantly less blood loss per gram of resected BPH compared to the other groups (P<0.01 or P<0.05). The study concluded that the combination of longxuejie and finasteride was effective in reducing intra-operative bleeding without any side effects.
