TLDR Hair from the head was successfully used to restore pubic hair, with additional procedures suggested for more natural results.
The document from 19 years ago discusses a successful case of pubic hair restoration using hair-bearing tissue transferred from the temporoparietal scalp to correct a congenital form of pubic alopecia. The authors also reported long-term results of this procedure. Additional procedures such as tissue expansion before or after the transfer, hair epilation, and minigraft and micrograft transplantation were suggested to achieve more natural results. The authors also noted a rapid rate of hair growth in the transplanted tissue. The study concluded that this method of reconstruction using a hair-bearing temporoparietal flap for pubic hair restoration can yield good results.
