TLDR L-PRF treatment helped heal diabetic foot ulcers effectively.
The study examined the use of leukocyte platelet-rich fibrin (L-PRF) in treating diabetic foot ulcers with osteomyelitis in three patients. L-PRF, derived from the patients' own blood, was applied to the ulcers after surgical debridement. All patients experienced positive outcomes, with healed skin lesions and no signs of infection or relapse after a two-year follow-up. The study suggested that L-PRF could be a promising, cost-effective regenerative therapy for chronic skin lesions in diabetic patients, though the small sample size highlighted the need for further research to confirm its efficacy.
