Knowledge and Attitude of Late Adolescent Girls Regarding Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
TLDR Many late adolescent girls lack knowledge and have negative attitudes about PCOS.
The study assessed the knowledge and attitude of 239 late adolescent girls regarding polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) at the Technical Institute of Nursing at Benha University. It found that more than half of the participants had unsatisfactory knowledge and a negative attitude towards PCOS. There was a positive correlation between knowledge and attitude scores, indicating that better knowledge was associated with a more positive attitude. The study concluded that there was a need for educational programs to improve understanding of risk factors and preventive measures for PCOS among adolescent girls.
