Knowledge and Attitude of Late Adolescent Girls Regarding Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
TLDR Many late adolescent girls lack knowledge and have negative attitudes about PCOS.
The study assessed the knowledge and attitude of 239 late adolescent girls regarding polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) at the Technical Institute of Nursing at Benha University. It found that more than half of the participants had unsatisfactory knowledge and a negative attitude towards PCOS. A positive correlation was observed between knowledge and attitude scores (p-value 0.001). The study concluded that there was a lack of knowledge and negative attitudes about PCOS among the participants, recommending the implementation of educational programs on risk factors and preventive measures for PCOS among adolescent girls.
