TLDR JAK-inhibitors are effective for treating psoriasis and show promise for other skin diseases.
The publication reviewed the efficacy and safety of JAK-inhibitors in treating skin diseases like psoriasis, alopecia areata, atopic dermatitis, and vitiligo. It analyzed 17 articles, including 11 randomized clinical trials, and found the strongest evidence for JAK-inhibitors in treating psoriasis. There was also potential efficacy noted for alopecia areata, atopic dermatitis, and vitiligo. JAK-inhibitors were mostly used orally, but some studies showed effectiveness with topical application in psoriasis and vitiligo. The review highlighted the need for further research, particularly head-to-head comparison studies with existing treatments.
