TLDR IPL and diode laser are equally effective for facial hair removal.
The study compared the efficacy of intense pulse light (IPL) and diode laser for removing unwanted facial hair in 38 female patients with hirsutism. Each treatment was applied to one half of the face over three sessions. Results showed varying degrees of hair reduction: less than 25% in 14 patients, 25-50% in 24 patients, 50-75% in 27 patients, and more than 75% in 11 patients. Common side effects included transient erythema and moderate pain, each affecting 9 patients. The study concluded that both IPL and diode laser were equally effective and tolerable, with no significant differences in hair reduction, adverse effects, or patient satisfaction.
