TLDR CEFFE injections effectively and safely improve postinflammatory hyperpigmentation.
This study evaluated the efficacy and tolerability of autologous cell-free fat extract (CEFFE) for treating postinflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) in 15 patients. Participants received five intracutaneous CEFFE injections at two-week intervals. Results showed significant improvements in the brown spot index, transepidermal water loss, skin lightness, and lesion color at the 12-month follow-up (p < 0.05). Additionally, 93.33% of patients reported improved or greatly improved conditions. The treatment was well-tolerated, with only transient local bruising and stinging as adverse events. These findings suggest that CEFFE injections are an effective and safe treatment for PIH.
