TLDR CEFFE injections effectively and safely improve postinflammatory hyperpigmentation.
This study evaluated the efficacy and tolerability of intradermal injections of autologous cell-free fat extract (CEFFE) in 15 female patients with refractory postinflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). Over a 12-month period, patients received five injections at two-week intervals, resulting in significant improvements in skin lightness and reduced pigmentation. The treatment was well-tolerated, with minimal side effects, and 93.33% of patients reported improved conditions, with 100% satisfaction. The effectiveness of CEFFE is attributed to its antioxidant, antiapoptotic, and proangiogenic properties. Despite the promising results, the study highlights the need for further research with larger sample sizes to confirm these findings and identify the specific factors within CEFFE responsible for its efficacy.
