TLDR PRP injections can effectively improve knee osteoarthritis symptoms.
This study evaluated the effectiveness of intra-articular Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections in treating knee osteoarthritis (OA) in 15 patients. Conducted at the Transfusion Medicine Department in Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, the study involved administering 3 PRP injections 21 days apart. The results showed significant clinical improvement in patients, as indicated by the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Arthritis Index (WOMAC) scores, with a p-value of <0.001. The study concluded that PRP injections could be an effective treatment method for knee OA, suggesting potential for further research in this area.
