TLDR Stopping infliximab and using strong topical steroids can regrow hair lost due to psoriasiform alopecia.
The document described two cases of infliximab-associated psoriasiform alopecia in patients with Crohn's disease, a 14-year-old girl and a 48-year-old woman, who developed erythematous, scaly patches on their scalps leading to hair loss. Scalp biopsies showed psoriasiform changes, and stopping infliximab while starting topical clobetasol propionate resulted in significant hair regrowth within two months. The study highlighted that while paradoxical psoriasiform eruptions are known with anti-TNF treatments, cases involving scalp lesions causing hair loss were less common. The findings suggested that potent topical steroids and cessation of anti-TNF therapy could effectively manage this condition.
