TLDR Pomiferin may improve skin and hair by increasing important protein production.
The study examined the effects of Pomiferin on skin and hair follicle cells, showing that it significantly stimulated the production of extracellular matrix proteins like collagen and elastin in both in vitro and ex vivo assays. Pomiferin outperformed retinol in increasing Type 1A1 Procollagen expression in dermal fibroblasts at non-cytotoxic levels and enhanced hair fiber elongation and collagen expression in hair follicles at 0.00005%. However, higher concentrations were cytotoxic and suppressed hair growth. These results suggested that Pomiferin could be a promising ingredient for topical treatments aimed at improving skin and scalp health.
