TLDR Intermittent fasting, with or without probiotics, doesn't improve inflammation or stress markers in women with PCOS compared to calorie restriction.
A randomized placebo-controlled trial investigated the effects of early time-restricted eating (eTRE) alone and in combination with probiotics on biomarkers related to blood pressure (BP), inflammation, oxidative stress (OS), and antioxidant capacity in obese women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The study found no significant improvements in these biomarkers with either eTRE alone or eTRE combined with probiotics compared to a standard daily calorie-restricted (DCR) diet.
