Does Test Anxiety And Gender Have An Impact On OSCE Performance Among Medical Students?

    TLDR Test anxiety negatively affects academic performance, especially in female students.
    The study conducted at Taif Medical College aimed to determine the impact of test anxiety on OSCE performance among medical students. A total of 518 students participated, with 61% being male. Results indicated that male students experienced higher levels of test anxiety, with 21% reporting severe anxiety. Third-year students showed poorer performance and higher anxiety levels. A significant negative correlation was found between test anxiety and OSCE performance, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of -0.45. The study concluded that test anxiety negatively affected academic performance, with female students being more affected than males.
