Knowledge About Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and Effect of Lifestyle Habits Among Medical Students of North India

    TLDR Most medical students in North India know about PCOS and how lifestyle changes can affect it; early screening is important to prevent complications.
    The study "Knowledge about Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and Effect of Lifestyle Habits among Medical Students of North India" surveyed 100 undergraduate medical students and found that 84% of them were already aware of PCOS, a common endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age. There was a significant association between the awareness of PCOS and the gender of the study population. Additionally, 80% of the students were aware of the lifestyle changes that can affect PCOS, and there was a significant association between knowledge about lifestyle modifications in PCOS and knowledge about the etiology of PCOS. The study concludes that PCOS is a growing problem in women of reproductive age and early screening is necessary to prevent lifelong complications.
